Jacob Bjelfvenstam is a freelance videographer, cameraman and Director of Photography based in Stockholm, Sweden. He has more than 20 years of experience filming corporate productions, interviews, events, documentaries and news for international companies, broadcasters and organisations, and runs Cameraman Stockholm.
Who I work with
Most of my clients are international. Production companies, agencies and organisations book me as their local camera crew in Sweden instead of flying a team in. Clients I have filmed for include:
- Broadcasters: BBC, SVT, TV4 and Deutsche Welle
- Institutions: the European Commission and the European Parliament, including President Roberta Metsola’s official visit to Stockholm
- Healthcare and medical media: WebMD/Medscape for more than ten years, in Sweden, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO)
- Companies: Google, HCL Technologies, Lovable, Skanska, Atlas Copco, H&M and Fortum
- Culture and sport: the Royal Swedish Opera and the NHL
What I do
I film corporate films, interviews, conferences and events, live multi-camera productions and livestreams, documentaries and news coverage. I can work solo, handling camera, lighting and sound myself, or bring a full crew with a second camera operator, sound engineer, gaffer and DIT. Either way, the client has one point of contact.
My main cameras are the Sony FX9 and Sony A7S III, and I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro with client review through Frame.io. Producers abroad can follow the shoot live over Zoom or Teams and direct remotely.
I also work as a stills photographer – portraits, events and food – at stillsphotographerstockholm.com. During Almedalsveckan in Visby I team up with photographer Magnus Selander for photo, video and livestreaming at fotografalmedalen.com.
Based in Stockholm, working everywhere
Stockholm is my base, but I film across Sweden and the Nordic countries and have worked on commissions in Shanghai, Singapore and elsewhere. I work in English as standard and also speak Swedish natively, which helps with Swedish-speaking interviewees, locations and authorities.
What clients say
We are a production company based in the UK and have worked with Jacob on a number of projects and events now. There is no one else we go to for their expertise, help and knowledge. Jacob is always quick to respond to e-mails and very proactive in his thinking. He offers suggestions and ideas, but always leaves it up to the production company to make the decision. He is friendly and professional. The quality of his work has been outstanding and our clients are extremely happy with the end results. Jacob always goes that extra mile to ensure the event runs 100% smoothly. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
